Sun-North did not invent the chimney, we would like to say we did but our forefathers created many variations for agricultural facilities.
Sun-North was the first, 15 years ago, to adapt from open ridge to insulated chimneys and to make use of UV stabilized poly and stainless steel to make a long lasting weather resist ridge exhaust systems with many benefits.
- Sun-North chimneys extend higher and draw air at a higher velocity then an open ridge of 5 times the opening area.
- Sun-North chimneys minimize down drafts and snow and rain entry and can be controlled individually or in groups with an internal baffle board linked to a manual winch or electronic controls.
- Fixed poly ridge lite can be placed between chimneys to greatly enhance the natural light within the building.
- Sun-North chimneys require considerably less hardware to operate then an open ridge closure system.
Sun-North chimneys come in many sizes. Custom chimneys can be made to suit your situation.
- Standard sizes include 24” x 24”, 30” x 30”, 36” x 36”, 48” x 48”, 36” x 72”, 60” x 60”.
The insulated duct section can be 20 ft long or greater to extend through a high attic situation and can be flashed to suit the slope of the roof or flashed to fit in the ridge.
Sun-North chimneys have an outer and inner wall of 60 mil UV stabilized white poly with a core of 1-1/2” high density foam having an insulation factor of R8.
Sun-North chimneys are complete with all stainless steel hardware and can be shipped knocked down or assembled. They are also available with a baffle and/or bird screen.
Sun-North poly chimney roofs are normally white but are available in other colours.
